Light sweet crude is a variety or classification of unrefined petroleum. It comes from the area near where I live in Central California. It has a lower value than other heavier crude oils.
Taste is not a factor in its name.

its not sweet, its the $$$ they make off of it thats sweet, like... woohoo sweet deal!

Crude Oil - A mixture of hydrocarbons that exists as a liquid in natural underground reservoirs and remains liquid at atmospheric pressure after passing through surface separating facilities. Crude is the raw material which is refined into gasoline, heating oil, jet fuel, propane, petrochemicals and other products.
Light crude oil is crude oil with a low wax content. The clear cut definition of 'light' and 'heavy' crude is hard to find, simply because the classification so made is based more on practical grounds than theoretical. Since crudes with high viscosities are more difficult to transport/pump, those with apparently lighter wax content are referred to as 'light crude' and the ones with substantially more wax are classified as 'heavy crude'.
In the United States, the price of the front month light sweet crude oil futures contract, traded on the NYMEX commodity exchange (symbol CL), is widely reported as a proxy for the cost of imported crude oil.
wow i hope this helps. i am sure no one tastes it, it would be toxic!

if you refer to cooking oils, all seeds contain different amounts of natural sugars which are afterwards transfered to the oil at the time of extraction (regardless the extraction technique).
Each specie of seed contains different kind/amount of sugars so it is impossible to determine how much sugar a barrel contains unless you know what kind of oil is in it.
For your reference, Soybeans contain a sugar called glycine, corn oil contains more sugars than others and it is for example sweeter than sunflower oil, and so on.
Amount of sugar can be determined by chemical tests, like for example acidic hidrolysis or others.

"easy" refers back to the density or specific gravity of the oil. that's usually noted as tiers API. the better the degree of the oil the fewer dense that's. usually "easy" oils have a greater physically powerful % of differenct compounds that require much less refining to instruct into gasoline, jet gasoline, lube oils and so on. The "candy" adjective refers back to the quantity of sulphur compounds interior the crude oil. many times, any oil that has
