You should begin training them as soon as they start to eat solid food. The mother cat will take of it before then. As for training......... the best way is to make sure that they know where the litter box is. When they do thier business, place it in the litter box and then put them in too. Also watch and if possible catch them before they go and place them in the box. If they try to jump out (which is normal) just keep putting them back in. A slow process but eventually they catch on. Good Luck!!!!!!!

Keep a litter box near where the kittens and mom will live. As the kittens get older they just watch mom. We always used a small/shallow box for the kittens so they can climb in and out with ease as they will use the box when they are still really small. No need to be scared at all. It is such fun to watch them with their mommy. She will take care of them until it is time to start weaning. Then you will take over at about 5-6 weeks of age. Can start with milk formula for kittens mixed with regular rice baby cereal to a thick consistency. Then can add gradually some canned food. Then the progress to total canned and dry crunchies. We have never had any problems with this method. They will be such fun to watch and enjoy their antics. Relax an little and enjoy them. Make sure to place them in good homes with caring people.

You don't really train kittens to use the box. Just make sure they can always get to one and have privacy to use it. If they do make a mistake and go in some quiet corner or behind the furniture, make sure you clean it up well and use a pet deodorizer. If scent stays there, he may think that it is ok to use that spot. Limit where the kittens can roam and have more than one easy to access box. Do not use one that has such high sides they cannot get into it easily. Just like other babies, they sometimes wait too long and can't make it. They get it all sorted out pretty quick.

most kittens don't have to be taught. the mother cat will show them what to do. its in their instincts to cover up their poo.
but you can introduce them to the box when their eyes open and they can get around pretty easy. all i've ever had to do was show the kitten where the box was, put her in it, move her paws through the litter a couple of times, and she knew what to do from there.

I never really had to train my kitten. Cats are very clean, they figure these things out. Just show them the box and place them inside. They will see mom using the box and copy her.

Mom will show them everything, if your litter box has a door remove it so the kittens will have access to it.

if the mother is trained they will learn from her. Keep the box extremely clean for them as this is sometimes a deterrent for the little guys. Mother cats clean them as they go until they are going off milk and their poop becomes solid. And as they get older they will instinktively do as mom does. Oh you need to be sure thay are able to see her in the box so keep it close to the bed and make sure the box is not to high for them to get in and out of...Lets

I assume you own their mother and she is litter trained?
If so then by the time they are 8 weeks old and ready to be rehomed they will have litter trained themselves by copying mum.

Mum usually toilets the kittens after they are born, and when they are ready with their eyes open a few weeks later, she will take them to the tray and show them what to do.
Kittens are naturally clean and won't want to soil the nest and they learn really quickly.
