A vauxhall corsa probably, smallish engine which will make your insurance more affordable. Either that or possibly a Renault Clio.

Most 17 year old's will want to have a flash Max Power car. However in reality the cost of insurance will be very high. You need to try for something small with low insurance cost's. Vauxhaul Corsa's surprisingly are expensive to insure and are not the best car for a new driver.
My recommendation would be a Pug 306 ideally a five door 1.4 petrol. These car come as standard with engine imobilizer and alarm. They are also very cheap to run and have a bit of street cred. Expect to pay between £300 to £600 for the car and about £500 for third party.

Low insurance would suggest nothing with a bigger engine then a 1.4. My first car was a 1.2 peugeot 106 and i fell in love with it. Other good choices are corsa's, fiesta's, saxo's, anything basically with a small engine. Depends what your criteria is, i mean alot of these cars would be considered 'uncool' but my only criteria was that it had 4 wheels and got me from a to b and as i said i fell in love with my little 106, it never let me down. Hope this helps.

A Citroen C1 or Peugeot 107 could be worth considering. I am not sure, being fairly new models, whether they are available second hand. The two cars are very economical and are in the lowest insurance category. The C1 will be cheapest of the two cars with Citroen's discount pricing strategy.

Go for a cheap popular model with a small engine.

Vauxhall Corsa, Ford Fiesta or an old style Mini.

Parts are readily available and they are all cheapish to run.

something with a small engine for insurance purposes. A corsa, peugeot 106, fiesta or Renault clio. These are all popular with youngsters, and are economical and quite cheap to tax and insure

Try a Subaru Impreza.

Remember to inform your insurance company that you've modified the car with new wheel ref: 13R1CK5.

Ford KA. Got mine for just over a grand, it's really fuel efficient and the insurance was really cheap, even though it's my first year driving.

I would suggest a 1989- 94 cadillac sedan deville. They are stylish, powerful, and big enough to carry 6 adults comfortably. They are not expensive to buy and look at the prestige you will have driving it.

Definately a ford fiesta. My first car was an escort and I thought it was rather big, and it was also expensive to insure too. So a fiesta would be a lot better.
