To be honest, I big problems modern Evangelicalism. The biggest problem is with their Theology and some (not all) of the crap that has made its way into the common church culture. Things like the 'Seeker Sensitive Movement' and 'Purpose Driven Life' are prime examples of how they act, like they have ADD. They jump from one movement (or fad) in the church to another. Now modern Evangelicalism is stuck on an emphasis of a Self-Help Moralistic Deism, that has more in common with Tony Robbins, than Jesus Christ. In there version of Christianity, Jesus enables you to be come rich, be a better mother/father, get a better job and to be a better person. The pastor in the congregation is the Self Help Motivator that brings all this to you. It is literally psychology meets Christianity. The focus has been shifted off the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ and onto the Kingdom of Glory.
But to a lesser extent Politically and Socially, I have problems with their focus.
I am a Christian and often get lumped in with modern evangelicals, because there is 'Evangelical' in our Synod's name. We are 'evangelical' because it was the term used by Lutherans during the Reformation, because they restored the emphasis of evangelism in the Christian life.

They are no better than the mullahs preaching their extreme form of Islam.
