we havent been together for over 2 months but he was my first true love and though time has passed i cant stop thinking about him i love him to death and i really honestly want to get over him because of the fact that because of him i got hurt so bad. he claims he loves me but how can that be

Your example shows proof to my theory that men that treat women badly are the winners,and nice guys finish last.
I am not advocating men to treat women badly,but it seems to me that men that do,do not seem the worse for wear and they come out smelling like a rose.
Men that always do the right things,open doors,buy flowers,are the real losers in life.
Your example proves it.

Dfirefox said it right. I know what you are going through I continue to experience this overwhelming love for my ex and he was an abuser from the time I met him 25 years ago. Cannot explain it but I do want to tell you that you will be selling yourself short of happiness, freedom to live if you get back together with this one. Go out with friends, meet new people, take some classes you've thought about, take a part time job just take your focus off of this guy....you'll never regret it when a guy that will treat you well appears and sweeps you off your feet. Good Luck sweetie, please don't settle for a loser, I spent 25 years back and forth, and now I am (older) and feel like finding happiness with a man is too late.

It may not be love it may only be obsession cuz i'm the same way with the guys that end up leaving me. But I only think I love them because of how hot they are!!! I bet its the same thing with you..ethier that or ur still thinking of ur past with him
