i just got desposible non precription colored contacts a couple of weeks ago. I have never worn contacts before and the ones i have are desposible. The eye doctor says i have the change them every 3 or 4 weeks. But is there a sign that they are getting bad? Like will the burn your eyes or get fuzzy? They arnt doing any of that, but i was just wondering if there are any signs that i will look out for so i know they are bad.

Usually you can use contacts a lot longer than recommended, but I wouldn't push my luck. I wear contacts too and when I know I've worn them past the recommended date and they start to irritate, I just dispose em'. You'll see fuzzy because the contact begins to move out of place easily. If your eyes burn then that's when you know you really need to dispose them. Bottom line is if you see fine, then keep usin' em'.

There are no signs. You need to remember or mark on the calender when you opened a new pair and then mark a date when you will pitch them. If they every do burn or your eyes get fuzzy pitch that pair and put in a new pair.

you won't be able to wear them all day anymore if they are old. they'll be very uncomfortable, even dry and you'll rub your eyes b/c they'll feel very irritated. i've heard that disposable contacts are made out of the same stuff as ones you keep all year. i try to change my contacts every 2-3 months, but that's because i'm cheap and don't wear them everyday, i wouldn't recommend this, it's just what i do

it's based on how they feel from time to time.... but there isn't a definate sign. If they start to burn it might just be that you got something in your eye, or your eyes could be sensitive to the contact solution you're currently using, not necessarily due to the contact lens itself

Just remember 3 or 4 weeks. Once they start doing all of those signs tell you you waited too long.

mine start to get really scratchy when it comes time to change them, but that is because my eyes make too much protein.

i have monthlies so I just change them on the 1st of the month, makes it easier to remember!

They go floppy and feel uncomfortable ( hurt your eyes) when they expire. Better to change them every month.

BTW, it's 'disposable'

you should just make it a habit to change them in 4 wks. By then they are so coated with bacteria you would want to change them.
