No, pornography is not art. However there is a form of beautiful nude modeling that is defined as art and it is indeed.
I will talk about the photography as there is very little art in videos re: pornography vs. nude modeling...I think it's important to demonstrate that high quality nude modeling is completely different from pornography. I think that most people
know the difference, but some still don't. And that's usually because they have never seen high quality photography. Sexuality is a wonderful part of our human nature, and high quality nudes is a very legitimate form of art
Words are a fairly recent evolutionary invention, and must be filtered through the intellect - therefore through the indoctrinated belief system.
Photographs, however, work differently. Our responses to visual images have evolved over the years, long before mankind developed language. Visual images have direct access to the inner workings of the mind.
Visual art is much more effective at communicating an abstract
idea than any verbal explanation.
All too often people believe that in order to have a spiritual life they must deny the physical life. Carried to an extreme any idea or belief can become an obsession. It is possible to find a balance between our spiritual essence and it's physical manifestations.

I agree that it relies upon on the ordinary. there is a few movies and photographs that are rushed and poorly accomplished completely for the sake of money. besides the incontrovertible fact that, there are some very tasteful scenes and photographs. I evaluate the latter artwork.

To some it could be--perhaps to the filmmakers in the industry. As in all film--which is generally considered art--there are "artists" involved in the process: directors, set designers, cinematographers, lighting designers, and, to some degree I suppose, the actors and actresses.
However, consumers of porn aren't viewing it to appreciate its artistic merits. They're viewing it to see young, naked gals (or guys) getting boned and ejaculated on. So I guess it would depend on who you talk to.
