can thay send you to jail if you brake probation even if you were only on probation for something small like driving while lic expened?

Yes, you can go to jail. Probation is the sentence a person gets in lieu of going to jail. If a person violates their probation, what else can be done by the courts but jail or electronic home monitoring?

The probation is erased and you face the additional charge, with the full range of possible penalties, in addition to the charge of breaking (note the spelling) the terms of the probation.

So while the original charge might not have included jail time, the combined offenses might. Depends on the initial offense, the circumstances of breaking probation, and the judge, who has a great deal of latitude in a case like that.

They will violate you and yes you may end up in jail. Depends on the judge deary!
