I'm doing a study of scars.

I googled imaged it and all that came up were nasty blob like scars.

I'm looking for big scars as a result of being cut by blades or from falling.

Can you tell me about the different types of scars and how they are formed.

I'm looking particularly for battle scars and body formations as a result of travel like calisces or nasty things -I want to know how they are formed and how to get rid of them or how to prevent them.

Please link me to sites or images.

Scars are areas of fibrous tissue that replace normal skin (or other tissue) after destruction of some of the dermis. A scar results from the biologic process of wound repair in the skin and other tissues of the body. Thus, scarring is a natural part of the healing process. With the exception of very minor lesions, every wound (e.g. after accident, disease, or surgery) results in some degree of scarring
