I was backing out of my drive Sat. night and I bumped a truck. It was a friends or employee of the neighbors. They always have cars parked there and everywhere else. It was too late to knock on the door. I stoped and checked his vehicle. I didn't see anything . I returened 5 min later and still nobody came out. I know they were up. People come and go at late hours all the time. He is over there again and parked furthur back. I hope I didn't damage his truck! Should I at least go place a note on his car? This is killing me! On top of it --we just moved in 6 months ago.

Melissa, follow and listen to that voice inside you which is your "ruling conscience". This is obviously an important trait of yours and do what is proper. You will wipe this guilt away and not only that, you will be viewed as a lady of integrity by the parties involved and that goes a long way with people.

If you don't see damage on your vehicle, chances are there is no damage to their vehicle. However; regardless if there is or not, your honesty will go far above and beyond any minor damge if there is any.

Just be honest, and tell them what happened, and how you feel bad about it and apologize. Also; since you just moved in 6 months ago, it will let them know they have an honest and conscientious neighbor that cares and is responsible. This could be the foundation for a great friendship if not a great neighbor relationship.

Believe me, great things will grow from this positively. You will most likely gain neighbors that keep an eye out on your home and be the first to lend a hand if you need assistance with something.

The world needs more people like you and this is how it is planted and grows from just honesty and accountability. However; until you make the amends and do what is proper, the issue still exists. Just have faith in your fellow man as they will in turn be able to say they have the same faith in you.

You KNOW what you should do, otherwise you wouldn't have asked the question.
My suggestion; take a look at the vehicle you hit in broad daylight. If there's no damage, then forget about it. If there is, report it.
You could open up a whole can of worms if the vehicle is undamaged and you make a big deal about it. (They may blame you for other damage on other vehicles you had nothing to do with.)

Well, go over there while it's light out or take a flashlight and look.
If no damage then you're okay. If you want to tell him you bumped it for your own piece of mind, go ahead.
Be more careful in the future. If you don't like backing out at night, back your car up in your driveway, so you can drive straight out the next time.

Next time you see the truck there, leave a note on the windscreen explaining, apologising and giving your house number should the owner want to speak to you about it.

Offering to pay to fix any damage would be a nice thought too.

This guilt it extremely is eating you alive, is it from something you probably did on your previous? And do you proceed doing the comparable action/s that has led to you to experience this way interior the 1st place? If no longer, then you ought to recover from it (sorry for sounding cliche). while you're arranged to forgive your self, then this is what I propose: get a chew of paper and write down the wrongdoing(s) that are inflicting you this guilt. examine it. . . a pair of circumstances, in case you may. Now it extremely is on your EYES in basic terms!! NOONE should be certain what you have written! Now, take your paper exterior, AND BURN IT! Watch it burn. Watch how the hearth makes your little piece of 'info' slowly turn to ash and blow away. long previous. And the only way it may come back to you is that in case you do it back. this might all sound so corny, yet think of roughly it. once you desire somebody's forgiveness, you bypass to that man or woman so which you're able to do/say in spite of is on your heart. yet once you desire your man or woman forgiveness, there's no longer a actual action for us to do, so we do no longer something. by doing this - for me - it grow to be a thank you to ask MYSELF for forgiveness. i'm hoping it extremely is clever to you, and that i'm hoping it helps. in basic terms attempt it.

Call your car insurance agent and ask him/her what you should do.

You may admit to a bump and end up paying for a lot more damage than you actually did.

Go now and own up to it. See if there is any damage and be willing to pay for the repair.
