Actually I have done both before. I go to the same gas station most of the time and asked for just $15 in gas. I gave him a $20 and he gave me back a $10. He said have a good day and just as he was walking into the store again I called out to him and told him that he had given me to much money back. I gave it back and he gave me the appropriate change.
If I am in a store or something and say my change comes to $5.30 and the sales person give me $5.50 , I don't say anything. What's .20$ ? :P
Great question,
Have a great day

Definitely!
Similar to you, I've worked at the bank and if you give someone a little too much money back - even a penny - you are thrown off balance and you get written up! Sucks!
So I know how hard it can be to deal with giving back too much change.
And besides that, honesty is the best policy. I like to go by the Bible, and the Bible says to give Caesars things to Caesars and God's things to God. So I try my best. Speaking of which, it's tax time. That sucks too!
Hope this helped!

Absolutely! I mean you would point out if the change was too little so why not too much. People are too greedy now days, and it doesn't have to be that way. Think of others, have some morals and do the right thing! Glad to know others are honest too!

I have been in the retail business myself and I have given excess change but luckily for me they returned it. if I am given more change I normally give it back. It feels good to be honest...especially when it comes to something like money.

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. It honestly depends on whether I liked the clerk and had a pleasant shopping experience. If I did, I'd tell, if I didn't, I might or might not. If I didn't discover the error until I was outside the store, I probably wouldn't go back in.

My mom tends to be very honest when it comes to it...like if she has a few cents extra b/c the cashier messed up she rushes back to the store...me on the other hand, i dont really even pay attention...when i get change back i just shove it in my pocket...lol

Without a doubt. If I catch the mistake I would give it back. Even if someone uses a coupon twice on accident I stop them. It is the only way to live for me.

Give it up greedy butt...
Of course you give it back. You would never want to block an even bigger blessing from God by stealing from the local retail store.

Yes, or you will feel guilty about it for a long time after, even though you feel you have gained some cash in the short term.
It has happened to me!
