There is going to be a show on Discovery with James Cameron called the Lost Tomb of Jesus and as I am reading various religious scholars arguments how this could not be true. Their argument? Lack of evidence. For people who absolutely believe that Jesus was a god, his body rose from the dead and up into the sky, who believe that he changed water into wine, he walked on water....with absolutely no evidence that any of this happened. They believe because they have "faith" but yet when someone uncovers the family tomb of Jesus, the best argument is that there is no way to prove it? Since when do Christians believe in proof anyways? Their whole faith is based on lack of proof, is it not?

Maybe not ironic, but it will be interesting to see what happens next. It's like the "Judas Gospel" they found last year. It will stir the Christians up for a while, then they'll dismiss it as a "plot by Satan," and that will be the end of it.

Our faith is based upon facts. What the issue here regarding this latest archaological find is simply that someone wants to prove other than what the Bible has said, and what Christians have been saying.

The name Y'shua, Joshua, Jesus,- and Miriam, Mary, etc. are as common among the people of that time as Tom, Bill, John, etc. are today.
Again, there is just speculation, and no absolute, positive proof that Jesus isn't who He claimed to be.

As far as evidence for belief in Jesus, it is recorded that there were a huge number of witnesses to the events recorded in the Bible. More than is required in a court of law nowadays to establish something as being fact.

"Their whole faith is based on lack of proof, is it not?" Isn't that the nature of faith? Believing without proof? Faith exists for all types. The Christian, Jew, and Muslim all believe in the god of Abraham. I believe that there is no god. What is the common thread between us? None of us can prove our belief. The difference is that they believe in something extraordinary without proof and I need extraordinary proof to believe in something extraordinary.

There were too many witnesses of Christs Ascension to Heaven, the Tomb was empty, the proof is in the Bible and many other texts that are over two thousand years old. that is the proof.
i find the "DNA" test that they took to be hilarious, what are they comparing it to? just to find that the male and female bones were not related whoa there's a surprise. the contents of the tomb are of no significance to true Christianity.

It's not ironic. Their belief is spiritual in nature and so scientific proof is not required or even sought-after.

This tomb is not spiritual or connected to their beliefs in any way except someone claims it belonged to Jesus. Anyone would want proof of this before buying into it.

You simpletons who claim you can fault the logic of believers are just ridiculous. When will stop making fools of yourselves?

I absolutely agree with you. All religious people accepts scientific evidence when it agrees with what they think and ignore/distort/lie about the rest.

Could we just put Jesus' body in a swimming pool and see if it floats?

My faith is based entirely on proof. It is based on the Bible which I know has shown itself to be valid and truthfull over and over.
It is in the proof of the stories which reveal not only God's goodness, but also His perfect justice and righteousness.
The evidence is written in the Bible.
Testaments written by eye-witnesses to the events.
In addition there are verifiable sources outside the Bible which give evidence of the truth of the Word of God.
