my boyfriend is the guitar player in a band. They played at the bar this past weekend. A group of girls started chanting, "Take it off! Take it off! Take it off!" so he took off his shirt and continued playing guitar. I got mad at him. Was I overreacting, or within my rights to be upset?

for my opinions, I think you are overreacting. Its no big deal that he took off his shirt because requested by the audiences. He played guitar in the band and you should be happy he got fans now. You should be happy for him he got fans and that will make him love you more! You got mad at this piece of cake stuff. I would feel annoyed if I were a guy.

I would say you overreacted slightly. If he wants to be a musician, it is likely that he will have that happening a lot and he doesn't wanna upset his "fans". I would only have gotten upset if he was really going nuts and lapping it up distastefully or if he did something more to/for them - but if all he did was take his shirt off and continue playing, I would say that you needn't worry. Good luck girl- at least your man knows you care...

Overreacting. He's in a band and it's part of their job to get a fan base. All he did was take off his shirt. He didn't "nail" anyone. Don't let your jealousy take over you. It can be a real relationship buster. Instead, try and feel flattered that other women find him attractive. Afterall, he goes home with you, right?

Oh, what passes for showmanship these days!
I think you were in the right, but it's certain he was doing it to please the audience. I doubt he was advertising, okay?
He should draw some limits though. You wouldn't want him dance out on stage naked with only a toilet seat around his neck like John Lennon did in Germany 40 some odd years ago.
Speaking as a former performer, you do things to get people talking about your show...to hopefully drum up future audiences.
But, let's be tasteful about what it should be, you know?

first of all, is he a professional in band or just a band of friends or such, if so then no your not overreacting, he is getting a little attention and will start feel that if he can have all of these gurls why does he have to stay with 1 and eventually he will start cheating or break it off with you..

I think that you might have been overreacting because that kind of thing happens at every rock concert you go to. Don't be upset; he's still with you. Let him have his fun.

Were you present when it happened? Or did you just hear it from others? Anyway, hope it doesn't happen again, since he already knows how you'd feel. Maybe that's the problem, he didn't know how you'd feel. If he knew, and he still continued to do it, then that's the bigger sin.

Well my personal opinion is that I wouldn't be that mad. It would be different if he wasn't in a band, and just with a group of girls! Its not like he's gonna hook up with them. I wouldn't be worried if i were you.

Yes, he is part of a band and the one thing he and everyone in the band needs to do is please the crowd the fans or they won't have fans and in turn no work.

Well, you certainly have a choice. You can accept that guys can't ignor flattery or pretty young things, and be with him. Or you can choose to not be with him at those events, or at all.
