The wisest are those who say there is no way to convince me. I am an atheist; I have no intention of EVER converting. No insecurity here! :)
The purpose of the question was to see how believers would defend their own choice to me when I obviously see no logic in it.
...But for the record, if I *was* going to go with one of the Big Three, I'd be Muslimah. :)

Choose the path that seems right to you without anyone telling you which one to believe in. Do research on the religions that interest you. I did this and I've became a Muslim, because I feel in my heart and soul that this is the right path for me.

Very good question, and it is sad that the question is totally valid. However, Christian education comes after one is a Christian. Since spiritual thing are spiritually discerned it would be foolish for me to try to educate a non believer about good and bad Christian doctrine.
For the time being know that your sins are what keeps you from a perfect and holy God.
If you have ever lied that makes you a liar.
Stolen something even small, the that makes you a thief.
Every had hate toward someone else? According to the Bible your a murderer in your heart.
Ever say the Lord's name in vain? You are a blasphemer.
I am guilty of these as well and when we stand before God he is going to accuse us of these things and more.
Yet Christ was offered as a payment for our sins so that when we stand before God and he can look at us through that sacrifice of Christ.
It is his payment that allows God to see us as perfect and holy in spite of our sins and which allows God to forgive us.
Without the covering of Christ you will stand and fall on your sins.
This is the basic and most important doctrine of Christianity. Although I do it no justice above I hope that you get the main idea.
For a good read I suggest getting the book "Stranger on the Road to Emmaus."

First of all "there is no compulsion in faith" and no one of us has the power to convince u of embracing a religion.
But suppose after some logical and rational thinking u arrive to the conclusion that God exists...what is next? do a deeper research.
When I was catholic and not happy with it, specially becoz of the clash with science, I started to read more about other religions, then I found islam. STILL, it was not easy and a fast switching religions thing. Coz I realized that I was required to be patient, and wise and discipline, so it took me like 4 years to take the commitment with my deen. Now I strive hard everyday for being the best I can...but it was coz God wanted me to be muslim. No one but Him has the power of convincing people.
And is not about getting alone with other clubes ...as u say...coz the relation with God is up to every one of us individually. We must learn to understand this, what u do in ur life is between u and God...just that.

check out what they say and if it doesn't sound right ask questions here or of others. For example, I listened to Jehovah witnesses for a while and while I learned some things from them some of what they believe just didn't add up. The Christian churches like Assemblies of God seems to be the closest to right that I know but they too have some beliefs that aren't quite accurate.
Study, ask questions and ask God to guide you.

Everybody has never ever seen God in life. I was an atheist before, like many other people who are said to be atheist, my Philosophy was "to see it before i believe". That really confused me. What makes up my mind to believe was that because I evaluated creation. Science can explain everything but has limitations. These limitations are limits of God. Nobody has ever explained about the the beginning of everthing. Yes, there might be theories, but theories are incomplete. Theory is like an educated guess. Human being cannot see infinity just like you.
Look, whats beyond the space, we cant explain.What scientists do, theory again. Never ending theory for us human to consider that we are superior above all. But what we explained about everything, is still very elementary about what really is going on.
We are like controlled by a superhuman being, we are like fishes in an aquarium. Observe parenting, controlling, and superiority. Thats whats happening. There is little, there is big. God is above human being that controlls us. His power is immeasurable. We feel love. I know you feel love. Evaluate why.
We cant see air but exists. So with God, He is there. What we can only see is His creation. We are all Jehovas witness. Dont ignore what you can see, dont deny. The beginning of all these is not explained yet. Look huh, lets go back. Life-cells-chemicals-earth-the universe-the space....what else..Can you explain. That is the limit for human being. God gave the limit for you to recognize who He is. Let us witness what God has done for us. Witness what He did. Appreciate it. Learn to love and and thank God.

I think the bottom line is that it's like choosing a favorite flavor of icecream.. no one is going to agree that peppermint is truly THE#1 flavor. The only difference is that the icecreams don't fight with one another for supremacy.

'Christianity' has the greatest benefits; but it has also been given some obstacles (evidence; the division in 'Christianity'). Start by realizing the 'old testament' is not Genesis-Malachi ( it violates 2 Tim. 3:16-17) but is teh law of Moses. (See my Yahoo profile soon also please)!

Only Gods Holy Spirit can change you. If and when you truly desire to know God Almighty, He will reveal Himself to you.
A persons heart must truly want to know truth before God will bless you with knowledge of His Truth. Yahoo answers is not the place to gain wisdom. Read Gods Word and let Him reveal Himself to you.
