i believe God created the mind to receive dreams. i believe there is enough biological chemical that can be used to create Visions and dreams and allow the visitations of angels and yes even the Persons of jesus and the Holy Ghost. but can man produce a dream and can simple men be deceived by such techniques?

I think if God wanted to talk to someone he would not chose something as open to the wrong interpretation as a dream. It would be more direct than that. We all have dreams about all sorts of things. I think it's wrong to say you can read more into some than others. The way we sometimes do that is a joke. For example, if someone dreamed of a visit from a dead relative they could see that as some sort of message from beyond the grave. Why??? It makes perfect sense to me that it's an image of a loved one that you miss being pulled from your subconcious mind whilst you're in the subconcious state of being asleep. If you dream of eating an ice-cream you don't pressume it's some deep an meaningful message to avoid eating one incase you choke. People WANT to see more than there is in dreams and I think the things you think more conciously whilst you're awake point far more to who you are and what you believe than random dreams.

I've had in the past some pretty wild drug induced dreams. I no longer use drugs Praise God. But I would suppose a primary criteria would be whether drugs have been used recently or not?
What kind of drug, what the mental state of the person is.
And ultimately what their relationship to God is.

Yes, of course dreams can come from the mind, while some come from outside influence, including the Holy Spirit speaking to you.

You don't necessarily need to know the difference, ask in prayer about a dream that's troubling you. Then act in a godly way, and do the right thing according to the word.

ie, if a dream wants you to rob a store, it didn't come from God.

if a dream wants you to call your mother and see how she's doing, maybe it is from God??
