I wouldn't believe so... Narcolepsy's undermining cause is often sleep apnea. In order to diagnose sleep apnea your doctor has to prescribe a sleep study. First, at home with a sleep monitor that registers whether or not your body "forgets" to breathe throughout the night. Then, if the machine records to many episodes of apnea, you will probably have to undergo another kind of study in a sleep lab; where you will have to stay overnight. Once there is a diagnosis, then you can be properly treated.

To be properly diagnosed with narcolepsy, you would have to see a neurologist.
