you can eat almost anything, but need to stay away from lots of sweets and high fats-you may want to read this to understand labels and what it means for you http://www.diabetestoolbox.com/food_label.asp..... most things are a matter of porportion (you will have to measure the amounts of food and eat a balanced diet)
I found this site that has a free meal planning service w/excellent recipes ... http://www.dinewise.com/diabetic-meal-plans.html
also, here are some foods that are good for you and as far as drinks
any juices, milk, water are fine.
anyways, here is an example of what you could eat in a day
Here's a sample meal plan that is about 1,600 calories and 220 grams of carbohydrate. Remember to drink two 8-ounce glasses of water with each meal.

Breakfast
(360 calories, 52.5 grams carbohydrate)

1 slice toasted whole wheat bread with 1 teaspoon margarine
1/4 cup egg substitute or cottage cheese
1/2 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup skim milk
1/2 small banana

Lunch
(535 calories, 75 grams carbohydrate)

1 cup vegetable soup with 4-6 crackers
1 turkey sandwich (2 slices whole wheat bread, 1 ounce turkey and 1 ounce low-fat cheese, 1 teaspoon mayonnaise)
1 small apple

Dinner
(635 calories, 65 grams carbohydrate)

4 ounces broiled chicken breast with basil and oregano sprinkled on top
2/3 cup cooked brown rice
1/2 cup cooked carrots
1 small whole grain dinner roll with 1 teaspoon margarine
Tossed salad with 2 tablespoons low-fat salad dressing
4 unsweetened canned apricot halves or 1 small slice of angel food cake

Snacks
(Each has 60 calories or 15 grams carbohydrate. Pick two per day.)

16 fat-free tortilla chips with salsa
1/2 cup artificially sweetened chocolate pudding
1 ounce string cheese plus one small piece of fruit
3 cups "lite" popcorn

just make sure to educate yourself and you will do fine :)

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.

I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

High blood levels of glucose can cause several problems, including frequent urination, excessive thirst, hunger, fatigue, weight loss, and blurry vision. However, because type 2 diabetes develops slowly, some people with high blood sugar experience no symptoms at all. How to treat diabetes naturally https://tr.im/a6JKm

Symptoms of type 1 diabetes:

Increased thirst

Yes - that's why Atkins invented the "Atkins Diet". It's great - gets you off the sugar and you feel a lot better. Apparently when you eat a lot of sugar, you produce a LOT of insulin - and after many years you can become increasingly "insulin resistant" - your cells just won't accept anymore. And so there you are, starving, eating more sugar, getting fat as a barrel and more and more diabetic. Anyway - Atkins wrote a book about this - used copies on Amazon - "Diabetes Revolution". It is truly amazing how much diet can help.
