A bank account is not needed for a tourist visa as long as you have a return ticket. A visa is only needed for citizens of some countries. For example, a US or Candian citizen does NOT need a visa for a tourist stay of up to 30 days. Citizens of ASEAN nations do NOT need a visa to Korea for tourism or even business for up to 90 days. Other people, depending on their nationality, can get a visa upon arrival. You need to check with the Korean consulate near you for details. Visa (and stay) extensions are also available once you are in Korea. Just remember: you cannot earn money while there under a tourist visa.
By the way, for US persons, the "30 days" means 30 days. My wife went to leave Korea last month on the 31st day and had quite a time getting things worked out.
You will love Korea!

when i applied for a tourist visa at the korean consulate for a teaching job in korea (which is illegal and i was totally naive to that) all i remember doing was that i had to fill out an application and pay the fee. then they asked me the city where i was going to and the address. the guy told me that they couldn't give me a visa without the address of where i'm going.
there was about a 5 day wait for the visa so by the time i picked up, my job fell through. so i had to lie for the address b/c they wouldnt give me a refund or anything...then they gave it to me. i dont recall him asking about bank accts...i think all that matters at that point is if u have cash to cover the processing fee.
oh yeah u also need a copy of ur flight itinerary
check the link below...it should help (if ur from america and not residing in another country)

that's true, anything is possible. Sometimes even you have already have a tourist visa stamped in your passport, there is a probability that you will be declined entry at the airport. There are a lot of first time tourists that went to Korea on the day before lunar holiday (this year) that were deported.

I believe you only need a passport. I have been to Korea many times and only needed it. You only need the Visa if you plan on working or technically staying over 30 days, but the 30 day thing can be extended by going to your embassy and paying a little extra money.

Yes there's a very big chance of you getting denied especially if you don't have atleast P50,000 in the bank. You will also need your birth certificate, a notarized invitation letter from your bf, his passport and visa copy and if you're employed your employment certificate and income tax. Of course this includes your valid passport and a recent passport size photo. I suggest you wait till you get married if you're not prepared to be denied at this point. Goodluck!
