What are you on friend? lol!
The engines are so tough these days that a pair of your nickers would only help the combustion process.

There's every chance for damage.
First they would pass the inlet guide vanes, which are fixed, but fairly fragile, then be drawn into the compressor section. These blades can easily be damaged by any foreign object passing through. Once past the compressor, now in many small pieces and likely burnt, because of the rise in temperature, they will definitely finish burning in the combustion chamber. You may see a small puff of smoke out the exhaust at this time, but nothing more. You will have to replace those briefs.

This one goes on the dumb question list, but what the h...: Those turbine blades are very brittle and tolerances between moving parts extremely close, so there is an excellent chance that the underwear would damage the engine. This is referred to as Foreign Object Damage, or FOD. I ingested a bird in my left engine one time, and it was destroyed. Fortunately it was an Air Force plane and I didn't have to pay for it.

If the engine is lucky its most likely to be shreded by the intake turban blades and if the debri doesn't get tangled up in something on the way out, then whats left of it will be burned and shredded by the exhaust flames. to get a better picture go the website how things work .com ans put your mind to work try to visuaslize it and come to your own conclusions. I wouldn't recommend someone trying to do it number 1 the engine would require a complete inspection before going back it to service. They have high tolerence for the engine and that could throw something off balance. #2 If someone is aledging it happened to them I highly doubt it unless they have Clearence to be on the Tarmac, since 9/11 your chances are slim to none if you are a plain civilian taking a trip.

Most likely they will be shredded and burnt. However, anything that goes into the engine should be checked immeadiately before flying again. Even the slightest damage can affect a jet's performance.
Now the bigger question: Why did your underwear get sucked into a jet engine? :-))

The burning occurs at the end of the process.
Maybe it could damage or just get shredded, need to see iff test has been done on briefs getting into a Jet Engine.

Pretty much any cotton fabric stands no chance against a jet engine. It will be shredded into very small bits by the time it gets past the third turbine blade.

Airplane engines and turbines have sucked up geese and ducks or whatever else. If your shorts were comparing to that of a bird, you might want to--- WAIT! WAIT STOP! How the hell did your shorts get into an airplane engine stand in front of it and throw them. I HAVE TO HEAR THIS ONE PLEASE! This is better than Ron White man!

They would most likely be shredded to pieces and burned, but Murphys Law would say they could cause some problems. So although highly unlikely, I would have to say yes they could damage the engine.
