I believe that Jesus Christ actually existed, so this question assumes that much at least. Do you think the body of Jesus Christ will ever be found? If so, how will it be proven that this is indeed the body of Jesus Christ? How would one be able to convince Christians of the veracity of such findings?

Personally, I believe that the Resurrection can only be understood in a symbolic sense. Jesus lives in a spiritual sense, but not physically. It would be irrational to take the Resurrection story literally, and both science and reason would argue against it. Besides which point, Jesus always spoke of life and death in symbolic terms. So, I assume that His body may one day be discovered, if it hasn't already disintegrated and turned to dust and bones. Perhaps a shrine could be built to house the remains?

Or do you think that the body was discovered at some point in history, perhaps by the Catholic or Eastern churches, and then destroyed or hidden?

It's impossible to say whether the Body will be discovered in the future or not and it would be very difficult to prove that it was the Body of Jesus. In reality, Christ was not a physical body but the eternal Logos manifested in a pure, stainless and pre-existent soul. The true miracle of the Resurrection was the realization that Christ truly lives, even though His physical body was destroyed. This is why the Qur'an, for example, says that Jesus was not crucified or killed, but only His likeness (physical body) was destroyed. In reality, Islam does not deny the death and resurrection. It only emphasises the spiritual nature of Jesus Christ and denies the importance of the physical.

Physical resurrection is an impossibility and will never happen. Jesus will never return from the sky like some mythical god. The Return of Christ is a spiritual event and a return of qualities, not individuality. The physical body of Jesus Christ will never mysteriously descend from the sky, but His attributes and qualities will become manifest in another human form. This "Return of Christ" will come in the clouds - the clouds of a physical nature which obscure His true reality.

There are Christians who have never believed in the physical ressurection, and I am among them.

Other Christians would argue that without the resurrection, the church and Christianity mean nothing.

Irrespective of faith, I don't think many people would dispute the fact that Jesus of Nazareth was a wonderful person, who cared and brought love to an occupied land, where Roman brutality ruled the day.

In spite of an enthusiastic following and the existence of disciples,
at the moment of his execution, that following consisted only of his faitfhul mother Mary, and perhaps one other, possibly Mary Magdalene. All the rest had fled in terror, for fear of being associated with Jesus, and thus condemmned to a horrible execution.

It really doesn't matter whether Jesus jumped up from the dead or not, because the REAL miracle is to be found in the fact that his disciples and followers found the inner strength to stand up and be counted for what they believed, and in the face of incredible brutality and hostility.

In a nutshell, not even the power of the occupying Romans could overcome the power of faith, and as they discovered, "You can't keep a good man down."

Now as someone who doesn't have to believe in the physical ressurection, I would suggest that Christianity REALLY revolves around that call to faith, and in responding to that call, the ressurection is as ongoing today as it always was.

So let them find bones and put a name to them, and with any luck, Christianity will become a living religion rather than a magic trick.

Jesus wasn't a David Copperfield or a Harry Houdini.

There will be great wailing and gnashing of teeth, I guarantee you. =) But I don't think Christianity as a whole will ever accept such a thing. Personally, I agree with you. I believe Jesus did exist. And I believe the Resurrection is symbolic in the same way Baptism and Communion are symbolic of certain spiritual ideas. I do not believe Jesus was resurrected in a physical sense. By now the body would be nothing but bones with maybe fragments of cloth, etc... but there won't be much to work from. Even if they got something, there wouldn't be anything to match it to. Which is what Christianity will lean on in order to uphold the Resurrection story as absolute physical fact.

I only wish to point out 1 thing.
You say 'Jesus lives in a spiritual sense, but not physically. It would be irrational to take the Resurrection story literally, and both science and reason would argue against it.'
The Bible is a spiritual view of the world through Creationism. Science has theories of the origin of the world but NONE of them are compatible with the religious viewpoint.

I think you are caught between science and faith. You want to believe but deep down you are not sure.
If Christs body was found then people would argue over the legitimacy of it.

Use Religion as a guide to make your life better and those around you. Take nothing at face value.

Enjoy!

In the bible (which, in a way, I believe is not the complete story, in other words, a lie) it says that he rose from the grave and Mary found the garments folded on the resting place of where he was laid, but the tomb was empty. Now people believe this, but if the soldiers were able to roll the stone over the tomb, that means that people could have rolled it back. Causes a controversy between the bible and what a lot of people believe today. Which still leaves a question was Jesus the son of God or not?

If his body was here they would have found it by now. The Jews of the time did everything they could to prove he didn't rise. There weren't a lot of places to hide a body. Even the Romans were in on the search. The search has never stopped. I think 2000 years is enough time to look for something in a small area.
The way the Catholic church works, if they had His body they would have a shrine built around it were people would line up to pray. They would have explained it away much like you have.
The resurrection of Christ is suppose to defy logic. Trying to explain away the most important miracle is not a good idea.

Regardless if he existed or not, and regardless if he was the son of God or not, and regardless if he rose from the dead or not his body will never be found. Unless his body was preserved similar to how the mummys were he has long since become dust. Just finding a box with the word Jesus on it is not proof....that would be like finding a box 2000 years in the future with the name George on it and asuming it must be President Bushs coffin.

the body of jesus was taken off the cross. He died as was the testimony of the centurion who peirced his \lung and he described it as being a true sign of being dead. I dont think any man can get up and walk around after a lung wound and eat fish with his diciples.
besides all the disciples of christ were afraid when Jesus appeared to them, thinking that a spirit had manifested to them. but jesus denied such a thing by saying that a spirit had not flesh and bone, and all of them saw him and felt his wounds and hands and feet. Even doubting thomas was given a chance.
i think it was written that 500 other men also saw jesus.
the book of mormon declares that at least 2000 men saw jesus when he appeared to them on another hemisphere and all within a 40 day ministry after he died.

NO there will be no body found, of Jesus. He is risen.
check out the scriptures below.
