I'm in favour of it. Though I'm an Atheist (I wasn't always) I've check out some religions and I find it one of the most responsible. By that I mean that they mean it sincerely when they talk aobut being peaceful, they do not force anything upon others and they give so much choice, they aren't about restricing a lifestyle to fit it and so garner "rewards" or avoid "punishment" but rather provide a channel through which anyone's life can find spirituality. This is what a religion should be. The Bible started with 10 Commandments and then thousands of years, Pope mandates and other little rules created conflict by stating in not so clear terms what was right and what was wrong. And by elevating and stroking the ego of those doing "right" and condemning those that did "wrong" caused hate . Wicca's one rule captures an essence for modern living that is sensible and practical.
I remain Atheist but I do not want religion abolished, merely responsible and under control, and it is one the religion I wish others would look up to a lot more.

That there is a lot of confusion amongst its followers, especially in Britain with some arguing it is not a religion at all, merely a spirituality. Some British Wiccans think that the Americans have distorted what true Wicca is about. I was on a pagan forum, a few months back, and went into a Wicca & Magic discussion board and all was going well until I mentioned that my family is part American (& Wiccan) and I found myself being told that they weren't true Wiccans and British Wicca is the only true form. But I question if that can be true when there are so many different forms, some are monotheist, others polytheist. I can't say I am surprised since there are no clear set codes of practice etc. which has lead a lot of writers to publish books where they have basically made things up as they go along.
Also, I have noticed that some Wiccans have developed a taste for misinforming others and claiming that magic is a religion. Some say that witchcraft is a religion! Witchcraft is simply the practice of magic by witches; the skill (craft) of witches. However, I should say that this (and other problems) extends into the "pagan community." Others say that wizards do not exist as well, which they do, by definition anyone who practices magic is a magician and magician is synonymous with wizard! It just depends on the context. Although, in principle I think Wicca itself is alright, I suppose it depends on which sect; I don't think much of the "Satanic Wiccans" though. I know of Wicca, but I myself am not a follower, I worship distinct Gods although I would not say I was pagan.

I think wicca is commonly misunderstood. Wicca can be a very healthy, very spiritually healing religion. That is if you actually take a look at the religion, and not just judge by the magic. Magic is an important part of many wiccan lives, and not so important to others. Wicca is more than spells, wicca is about finding your place on the earth, and finding harmony in yourself and your surroundings. I absolutely adore the idea of having a God(ess) that truly does love unconditionally and acts as a true, literal, mother earth. blessed be.

A peaceful, tolerant, and environmentally focused religion. I think its mostly positive. I have read a bit on paganism and Wicca and I actually now celebrate more pagan holidays. I celebrate the winter solstice as a natural event for instance rather than Christmas. I am not a believer in spells or the supernatural myself but I am respectful and open to other's beliefs so long as they aren't harming other people and are tolerant of other people. So far Wicca doesn't seem nearly so judgemental, violence prone, or intolerant to me as the big three monotheistic religions.

I like it all, because Wicca is a religion based in love not only towards others, but towards everything. In Wicca you can find peace, not found anywhere else. In adversity we become strong.
My Goddess and God are not far away (distant), because they are always around and within us.
Blessed Be! )0(

It's a book of the month club religion. When you try to pin down Wiccas to what they believe, you find it changes with the next pagan best seller. As far as all the magic (or magick or magik) goes, that's all hooey. There's no evidence of it being any more than mind games.
On the bright side, they are nature lovers, in general. And they aren't as pushy as some other religions.
I see it as one of the stepping stone religions from Christianity. Men who become disenchanted with Christianity tend towards Buddhism (or Buddhism-lite). Women tend towards New Age junk and Wicca. Eventually, many make the next step to atheism.

I am Wiccan myself. I think ours is one of the world's many sacred pathways to the Divine. Ours is nether better nor worse than any other pathway; like all of them, it is a sacred way, and like all of them, it has pitfalls and room for tremendous abuse and error. Wicca speaks to those for whom it is the right choice, but it is not the right choice for anyone.

I think that it is a very old goddess religion that predates many other religions. People don't understand this and think it's bad because the Catholic church told people it was bad and 'evil' so they could convert people to a male based, church controlled religion. Boy, I'll probably get slammed for this one!
