I guess that previous answerer has never been the pastor of a small church lol. Otherwise he'd know that coming up with ideas for projects IS part of pastoring in small churches. You get the lovely task of handling pretty much everything!

How about building something of value that can be sold? What sort of talent do you have around you in the congregation? Do you have any carpenters, builders, mechanical-types? The money can then be used to help the need you say you have.

Not of interest? Well, then how about sending your people out to find out what individual people need in your community, and working to get those needs met. See a little old lady with a run-down front yard? Send the teens over to weed for her. Maybe someone going through a rough time could use a bit of maid service from a few ladies of the church, or a paint job on their house ... or someone may need a mechanic and some parts.

There are so many needs out there, some bags of groceries left for someone you know is desperate with a note scribbled on the bag "From God with Love".

Most towns have some sort of interdenominational organization where local clergy can talk to each other. If you are a pastor you should be aware of your local organization.

Members of your congregation are a good resource for information.

If you are a member of a denomination, the hierarchy of the church structure should have suggestions.

The city council, local or state department of social services, hospitals or police department may have ideas.

Didn't you get any training in this sort of thing in seminary?

GOD has enough people making projects and pastimes.

Why dont you preach the Word of GOD for a change.

If GOD wanted more projects he wouldnt need you to come here looking for answers to questions. he would come to you with the project.

Get back to the work GOD has prepared for you in advance.
