Well there are two major themes for Ostara (Eostre). One is balance - it is the Equinox, when light and dark are the same length. Some people also celebrate this as the triumph of light and heat over darkness and cold.

The second is the renewal of the Earth, (come into fruition now, first celebrated at Imbolc as the fulfillment of the promise of the Yule tree). Light and heat have returned to the Earth, and life is renewed.

So Ostara can be seen as a solar festival. Depending on the cultural traditions that your practice comes from you will be celebrating different things (In the Mediterranean, the Equinox is a time for sprouting, and in the North, it is a time for sowing.)

If where you live it's a time of growth rather than sowing, take a planned walk through a wilderness area to collect wild greens and flowers. This is not simply exercise, and you should be on no other mission. It isn't even just an appreciation of nature. Make your walk celebratory, a ritual for nature itself.

For your ritual, bring nature indoors to your altar, if you cannot celebrate outside. Flowers should be laid on the altar (set up in the East, to honor the returning Sun) , placed around the circle and strewn on the ground. Fill a bowl with spring water and flowers. It's a good activity for each coverner to make a floral wreath from the flowers you collected on your walk.

Ostara should be a daytime celebration! IF you can celebrate outdoors safely in a place that allows for a fire, leaping the fire is an old tradition at this time of year, to burn away any lingering effects of Winter and to encourage the fertility of the Earth.

Eggs, of course, are a part of this celebration for many Pagans. Decorate them, charge them with your plans and wishes, and eat them. Eostre comes into your life with a springtime message of personal growth. It is time to open to things in your life that facilitate growth, development, evolution. Is there a class or workshop you've been wondering if you should take? Do it now! Is there something new that you want to include in your life? Let it in now! Have you just gone through a period of stagnation and lethargy where nothing seemed to be happening? Let it go! Now is the time of growth.

IF you planted seeds at Imbolc that have sprouted, you'll want to incorporate those into your ritual.

(I'm not giving you a ritual "script", because you will do far better to create your own. If you simply MUST follow someone else's script, you can find a lot of rituals online.)
