When my husband presses his finger it stays indented for quite a while, with a white color. 3 yrs. ago he had a major by-pass but is feeling very well.

Indentation could mean dehydration, or he's just pressing much too hard.

The color represents peripheral circulation, or blood circulating to the extremities such as the fingertips. Medical professionals measure this during patient assessments. When a fingertip is pressed, the natural pinkish color should return in less than 3 seconds after letting go in a healthy individual. If his fingertip is remaining white for quite some time, it could mean that his blood is not circulating properly, and may need to have another cardiac check-up with his doctor.

My doc told me this could mean dehydration or excesive water retention because of a diet with too much salt in it. Bring it up to your doc.

Your husband should see a Dr. about this situation.
Might he be working in the cold weather?
