O might be hugs, but I've never used it for that! I usually stick with *hugs* !

Don't think it really matters, those who know you mean them for will get the point right? To me hugs are the x and kisses are the o.

X is the kiss, O is the hug. Think of the O as a circle of embrace and the x is two lips meeting each other.

that is a good question you would think xs would be kisses but most people put the x before the o and say hugs and kisses so I would think x's would be hugs
