... a sword is a sword, and to be warned in Scripture to live by a sword will bring death by the same, why then do people believe following Jesus, a proclaimed "2 edge sword" will bring them life?

Nowhere in scripture does it claim that Jesus is a 2 edged sword. The verse you are probably thinking of is in Hebrew 4 (believe verse 12). It says the "rhema" word of God is as sharp as a 2 edged sword. Does not say it is a 2 edged sword.

(Note that if you are going to argue that Jesus is the "word" of God, in the Greek he is the "logos" word of God - which means a complete express or image of something. Hebrews 4:12 says the "rhema" word of God - which is a spoken word , or sound.)

If you really want to carry the image of "dying by the sword" over to the speaking of the word of God, then it is possible. Because the "rhema" word of God will cut away and "kill" the sin and destruction in a person's life when they hear it. In fact - "duh" - that is what the rest of Hebrew 4:12 says it does....it divides between the soul and spirit, and the thoughts and intents of the heart. It separates the good from bad so we can "die" to sin and live to righteousness.

The Sword is the spirit. Jesus was talking about his spiritual side.

HEB 4:12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

your arguement is out of context. He that lives by the sword speaks of violence. not the weapon itself. And he is not only the double edged sword, that is a description he gave of his word. It will cut to the heart of anything, dividing joints and bones.
