Jacobovici, director, producer and writer of "The Lost Tomb of Jesus," and his team obtained two sets of samples from the ossuaries for DNA and chemical analysis. The first set consisted of bits of matter taken from the "Jesus Son of Joseph" and "Mariamene e Mara" ossuaries. The second set consisted of patina — a chemical film encrustation on one of the limestone boxes.

The human remains were analyzed by Carney Matheson, a scientist at the Paleo-DNA Laboratory at Lakehead University in Ontario, Canada. Mitochondrial DNA examination determined the individual in the Jesus ossuary and the person in the ossuary linked to Mary Magdalene were not related.

A possible argument against the Talpiot Tomb being the Jesus Family Tomb is that the collection of names on the ossuary inscriptions could be coincidental.

The study concludes that the odds are at least 600 to 1 in favor of the Talpiot Tomb being the Jesus Family Tomb. In other words, the conclusion works 599 times.

So the fundamental question is:
Can we keep the moral teachings of the bible and throw all the wasteful idoltry out? No more expensive churches, no more priests driving bmw's, no more tourists seeing the pope, no more religion in poltics?
Can christians finally admit they might have pushed their biased "truth" a little too far? Retract? Return the stolen? Let go and move on? Turn the other cheek?

I'm tired of people not understanding the DNA tests and discrediting the entire find because of it. They did not perform the DNA tests to identify if it was Jesus Christ. The DNA test was only used to see if the Jesus in the tomb was related to Miriamne. (Wife or Mother). Mary of Magdala's real name was Miriamne; mara is the same term as Maranatha "Come, oh Lord [mara]" in 1 Corinthians 16:22. Then people refute the find because "Many people have had the name Jesus" This is true, but look at it this way (Science Daily)

The approximate population of Jerusalem at the time of Jesus was 50,000. If you could get all into the local hippodrome, and started asking, would all those whose name is Jesus please stand, 2,796 would rise. Then if you asked, would all those who father is also named Joseph remain standing, 351 would be left. If you ask all those also who mother's name is Mary, 173 would remain. Add the brother's name Jose, and only 23 would be left. Add the name James, and you are down to one.

This is it. Don't let people fool you into thinking otherwise.

Actually and truthfully back in those days after Jesus's crucifixtion there were women who did indeed named their sons after Jesus.
So,even though the name on the tomb maybe Jesus, still,it doesn't prove that it is actually the Jesus Christ.
Also, back in those days they didn't have coffin like things except in Egypt.
It has been said that the jews took care of their dead by wrapping the corpse in a cloth of some kind, full body, put some kind of herbs or perfume on the corpse to where it won't smell as the body decays and is left in a sepulcher as is,the body is placed and left on a table like thing within the sepulcher and a large stone covers the entrance of the sepulcher.

There is only two possiblities to of that individual's findings which are he has unintentionally misunderstood it to be Jesus's tomb or he just simply and deliberately made the whole thing up and paid people to confirm what he wanted to hear.

You must understand that there are people in this world who will stop at nothing and they will say & do anything to discredit & demean the Lord.

So,in closing,I leave you with this for you to hopefully ponder on and reach your own decision which is no matter what you believe or don't believe you have got to stand for something or you will fall for anything.

THE conflict awl: uninteresting Bible? (09/29/2010)—the technique of the holy writings sees the deposit of sacred certainty into human understanding. A believer gets understanding of recorded activities as though incredibly modern via seeing and listening to with the recommendations, quite than the senses (i.e. the flesh). A believer is authorized to understand the very comparable fact that replaced into seen and heard via GOD by way of Christ, and in the path of the Holy Spirit. to appreciate what they obtain, many practice key scriptures whilst examining from their Bible: (a million) faith cometh via listening to, and listening to via the know GOD (Romans 10: 17); and (2) of the believer could evaluate religious issues to religious (1st Corinthians 2: 11-14). hence, it fairly is terrific to study aloud to a diverse, and to stipulate unfamiliar words and words as one reads alongside. The reader turns into an eyewitness proclaiming the sacred be conscious, and trusting that GOD is handing over it to whom he will, even in spite of the undeniable fact that they are actually not seen, and are separated from the reader via area and time. ok i read all of it. they did no tests on the other bodies. thier is absolutly nothing here to make me believe that they found Jesus. i guess you have forgotten the History that even the romans have showing that Jesus died and was burried in another mans tomb and then disapeared with out a trace. which is where our Bible fills in the blanks.

find it funny how you flock to controversy like a fly to poop. If you listened at all in your biology class, you would know that to prove DNA there has to be two sources. How can they prove that it is the DNA of Jesus if they don't have another credible sample to test it with. Therefore your whole question is moot.

where's the faith? We should all be happy about the fact that Jesus died for us so we can live forever.Finding things that no doubt will be worshipped by millions is the Devil's way of taking our minds and heart off the real prize..........life
