I'm in the process of painting my kitchen walls and ceiling all by myself and I just wondered if any other women do the same, alone?

I'm a single mom and a homeowner and the ONLY thing that I don't do myself on my home is wiring. That I leave to a professional. I do all the painting, papering, laying tile, and general maintenance as well as all the lawn work.

Yes, I am a single woman with my own home, I paint, do minor repairs - fixed my garbage disposal, replaced some PVC piping under my kitchen sink, replaced the shower divertor in my bathroom and recently started painting my deck and gazebo..not so sure I find it relaxing b/c its a lot of work, but I like doing things myself and actually dont have the cash to have someone come and do it...im also contemplating redoing my kitchen cabinets which I know is a lot of work ... so im putting this off as long as possible!

I paint,tile and patch. Do gardening and even build furniture and have put in a toilet! Maybe you are like me- my attitude is why not?I learn the same as my husband and though he helps-he drives 1.5 to 2 hours each way to work-he just doesn't have time.(Southern California living-UGH!) My neighbor called me "Martha Stewart on drugs" once-I THINK she was complementing me?! Anyway- I always say I can fry it up in a pan-so what's wrong with being a cool wife whos a good cook,still looks good in her jeans-and can fix things? We rock girlfriend! Good for you!

My dad was a professional house painter so my teen years were spent helping him out. Now I'm Mrs's Fix it. My hubby is completely lost when it comes to things like that. Now i have to go plaster the hole in the wall he made when he tried to help me hang pictures. :D

Yes, I paint the rooms in my home all by myself. For me, I find it very relaxing. I guess I am also very anal on how it comes out... I would not want someone doing it otherwise it would drive me nuts if it did not come out right!!!
