This depends of course on the situation.
We don't know enough about the situation to even guess about the intention of the teacher.
Maybe the studend wanted to ask the teacher something, the only time he had available was his lunchtime so he invited her.
Or maybe there was a teacher student lunch and the teacher invited the student to go along.
Another question would be how old the student is. I went to the university twice, the second time I was 40 years old.
So what does it mean if a male teacher invites his female student to lunch - - we do not know!

OK I am Male, I was invited to clubs, Lunch, even houses by Female Teachers, I went, I had a secret crush on one of them.
But....Never had a sexual relationship with one ( Yes I am Upset about it)
I dont think you should assume things, and If you do, you should be ashamed. The teacher is not guilty of anything.
When I left school, I could have had a relationship with one of the teachers from school which I used to go Clubbing with all the time, but decided not to, because of the age gap(Should have just .....well...you know, then forgot about it)
There is alot of kids that hang out with teachers after school and it is for no other reason but to have a friend you can trust.
Dont panic, your daughter is better off having a friend like that, then a Drug Dealer!!!

Honestly he wants way more than casual lunch conversation. That is no appropriate way for a teacher to be w/ a student. If he wants lunch say in the cafeteria to discuss your school work, thats a little different. Please be careful and try to find his true intentions. Good luck.

Unless the they were friends before he became a teacher, it is inappropriate behavior and the invitation should be declined. Possibly ask the teacher what his motives are.

If reported, it means he'll be getting his walking papers soon. If a male teacher asked my daughter to lunch, he'd be served a heaping helping of whoop-pass.

He's fishing and totally crossing the line between teacher and student. If found out, he could lose his job.

Don't assume bad things..like all the other people in here. As long as it is a school lunch his intentions can't be bad.

"to lunch" at school? means he has something to discuss with her at lunch.
"to lunch" on Saturday/vacation/outside of school means someone should be concerned about the situation.
