old hobby was unraveling the TP...now they go behind the TV and I am not sure how they are doing it, but I think they rub their mouth against it and it comes out? Or from running and tussling with each other back there...any ideas how to stop? Tape over plugs? They also like to knock the phones off the hook...?

Block off the area behind the T.V. so they can't get behind it. They could get really hurt being behind there, even shocked if they half unplug the T.V.
You need to baby (kitten) proof your home.

I wish they would give up the new hobby and go back to the old one. Electricity, sharp little teeth and wet little mouths are a dangerous combination. It would be a complete pain, but if they are going to be unsupervised in the tv room, everything electrical needs to be unplugged otherwise they could fry themselves.
The phones are a nuisance, but not dangerous.
