First of all assess the scene, make sure there is no danger for you. Make sure they are breathing. If not start CPR immediately. If they are breathing the best thing to do is to roll the person on their side with the bottom leg straight out and the other one brought up toward the stomach as though the person was sleeping on their side. Put the arm on the ground up straight and the other one draped over their side. Put something under their head so that the don't suddenly bang their head on the side walk, loosen any collar buttons. Call for help. An ambulance has the ability to check for the not so obvious things. Stay with them until help arrives. If you let something like this affect you during your studies you will inevitably have it affect you when you are done. Is this the right career choice for you. You are afraid of it. Are you afraid that you will make a wrong diagnosis? How far into medical school are you? You have to ask yourself some of these questions. Good luck honey.

You should stop to assess the situation. Make sure that the person is receiving proper care. Even if you are not the one to administer care, make sure that 911 is called. It can be scary to practice or use your skill, but you can get over this.
