All you need to know is in the link. There is a 600 to 1 chance it is Jesus' family in the tomb. Big odds!
If it is true Jesus was married and had a child he becomes the world's greatest Philosopher/Prophet, not the son of God, and the bible then becomes a book just like the Torah- a philosophical guide to live life written by a man, not word of God. It may even deny the existence of the God written about.
Careful, it doesn't imply there is no God- just greedy people that took advantage of circumstances!
PS: CMW please read the facts- your version is totally inaccurate!

I read it yesterday. It isn't a slam dunk, but it is a solid case.
Here is the deal. The family tomb has Joesph and Mary. Jesus the son of Joesph and his wife Mary. There is also a son Judah. There is also an adjoining brother James. The DNA shows the family relationships are right. The statistical analysis of the names makes the odds 600:1 that it is the right family. And finally everything dates right.
Like I said, there is some wiggle room, but Christians are willing to claim the Ark is found with a hell of a lot less evidence. If it agreed with the Bible they would be crowing about it all over the place.
The documentary will be on Discovery on Sunday.

Because they found tomb boxes containing remains that were marked in the Jewish style with the names if the occupants. The names included "Jesus son of Joseph", "James brother of Jesus", Jose (or Joseph)", Mariomene (believed to be a version of Mary or miriam, etc and one which said "Judas, son of Jesus". The one which had "Mary Magdalene's remains showed different (non-relative) DNA but was buried in the same box as "Jesus" remains indicating marriage. Supposedly the tomb remains date back to the right time period and the names are surely not all coincidental.
The drawbaks? The names were common names in ancient Israel, very common. The location of the tomb is wrong for whether the family was to have lived. It was a fairly wealthy tomb for what Jesus' family was believed to have had. And of course because Jesus' remains should not be there or anywhere according to the resurrection.

There are two boxes, which have names on them. One name is Jesus, one is Marianne, one is Judah, son of Jesus. The use of names is pretty much the argument. These were very common names, so it's like finding a modern crypt that says, "Joe, Sue and Linda," and deciding that you know what family is buried there.
There is no DNA testing on the bones, because they were immediately reburied.
