You can have a marginal IQ and still study medicine although, a higher IQ won't hurt. I know lots of high IQ people who don't use the gift.
131 is a high average IQ. This will not change, though. Generally speaking, IQs are not something you can raise or lower, they just are.
I have found that studying, not only requires intelligence, but common sense. People choose to be a good student or poor student. You have the IQ to make the best choice.
Good luck!!

IQ of 131 means about 95 % of people did worse at that particular test. The tricky thing is that IQ is a somewhat peculiar test. It only measures certain aspects of intelligence. I knew a young man who could do a Rubik's cube. that is a slightly different piece of intelligence. Dr. Ben Carson said he had an advantage in that he saw (visualized) things in 3 dimensions. I thought everybody did. You probably could manage the study of medicine. Considering the current situation in the Allopathic school, and that it is married to Pharmaceuticals, would you want to? I would not! Before you make such a large decision, talk to a few counselors.-- at school, at Med schools, maybe at an employment office. Get to know a few doctors. Maybe work a bit on the edges of the industry to get a better feel of it. It is a big step- both financially, and in energy. Do your homework.

It means you have an IQ higher than normal. I am a 13 year old boy and my IQ level is 142. I got it from my elder brother's college principal's comp. I am not boasting but you can study medicine with that and it's a respecable amount of knowledge.

It means that she has a higher than average IQ.
It doesn't mean that she won't make stupid decisions, though.
Just remember that it's more important to be good, than smart.
And yes, that's more than enough intelligence to do well in medical school. I work with doctors every day who exhibit less intelligence than potted plants.
