Meg Micheals, could you explain that statement? Had an experience yourself?

Second question. Do people who are pro-life use contraception, yes or no? If yes, why? If no, should they?

Okay, I want to emphasize the second question with capitol letters, so I'll get some responses to that. CONTRACEPTION = ABORTION OR NOT? WHEN DOES LIFE START?

Okay, noone asked the difficult question for me, so I guess I'll have to do it myself. There are plenty of Christians that make love with contraception but call abortion immoral. Why? Using contraception is making the conscious decision not to have a child. So is abortion. So what exactly is the difference? And when is something alive? Are reproductive cells not alive? Is the result of contraception so very different from abortion?

Okay, I like what Lover of God said. If abortion is used as a method to avoid the consequences of sexual indiscretion, what do you think about contraceptionh?

Pro-Choice
Why? Easier than it seems. I am a male, so I don't dictate women. I consider a fetus a collection of living cells, but not a person until first breath. Who can say what a woman's true intentions are? Equal rights for everybody, that does not include a fetus. It counts as much as my amputated forearm. It cells are alive, but it does not have consciousness. Fetus do not have consciousness nor comprehension before birth. Simple. Open and Closed.

People have been here for about 100,000 years. The first time there were a billion people on earth, it was around the year 1700. Today there are about 6.5 billion people. There will be 6.6 billion people by the month of July, 2007. There will be 7 billion by the year 2017, 8 billion by 2026, 9 billion by 2042. We are now using 20% more energy than the earth can supply. When we reach a population of 12 billion people, we will be using 40% more energy than the earth can supply. We cannot sustain this trend for very long. Something is gonna give - there will be world wide hunger like you cannot imagine. There will be wars fought over fresh water. God has the power of life and death, if man was created in his image, man does too. And man is going to have to come to terms with having to make decisions who will live or die. Abortions will soon be the least of our worrys. If the real reason we are fighting in Iraq is for oil, we are already killing people for it. As far as abortion goes, I believe it is up to the woman. For example, If a woman gets pregnant because she needs a fix of heroin, she knows she cannot support a baby. She knows the baby will have a terrible start in life. You know the baby will have a terrible start in life. Everyone knows it. People have to face reality - we are already deciding who lives or dies. And there are going to be a lot more decisions to make. I say we take it a step farther. If a baby is born with a disease that 99% of them die before they are 2 or 3 years old, Why make them suffer? And they are only going to be more of a drain on society. The child will be here only long enough to have medical costs that are going to drag the family into the poor house - for what?

Both. We should do everything we can to prevent abortion with good sex education and making sure contraceptives are available. I would never have had an abortion but I dont feel I have the righ tto tell another what to do. I can think of nothing sadder than an unwanted child. And yes, adoption is an option but not for all babies. In the USA people rather adopt and child from China or Russia than a black child.
So I say both.

difficult answers. Not true
I am not a women, but if I were I would tell anyone My body my choice. Now that is simple!
As a man I believe as long as its not my problem or situation its not my choice.
These things only the people involved can answer they know what they can live with or with out and using abortion as a birth control method should be prohibited
Yes birth control is abortion, just not viewed as such, then again a waste of sperm is also abortion, so we are all guilty as charged
EDIT
Why would anyone want to have children in this world as it crumbles away, its stupid to keep bringing children to earth, our society is mad and the world leaders are crazy and we keep insisting to bring children and later as adults complain because they are on welfare, food stamps or Medicare. We can not all succeed in this capitalist society, so that is why so many are subject to poverty
EDIT EDIT
Your question is now a rant, and the subject matter is stupid because you will not gain any knowledge from the answers you get because they are not the answers you want

Pro life, because no sweet little baby deserves to die because of the mother and fathers wrong decision. There are lots of people who can't have kids, and would love to adopt those babies. So why not do that instead? The only time I think it is ok to have an abortion, is if the child growing inside is going to kill the mother, like a tubal pregnancy, but that is so rare, it really doesn't apply.

Pro-choice, but not necessarily pro-abortion.
I'm not a great advocate for abortion, especially in cases of convenience, as another answerer put it. However, I am also against legislation determining that women must carry an unwanted pregnancy to term.

Pro choice
1. where rape is involved
2. where it will save the mother's life
Pro- life when abortion is to be used to avoid the consequence of sexual indiscretion. I WAS ADOPTED----I HAD LOVING PARENTS AND A GREAT LIFE, THANK YOU MOM WHEREVER YOU ARE THAT YOU LET ME LIVE.
Lots of good people want children and cant have any, and will pay all of your expenses. And someday your child will thank you for allowing them to live.

I'm pro-choice for society.
Pro-life for me personally, though. I'm a 38 y.o. guy with no kids and I am not a "religious" person. I just think it cheapens life. I also can't stand when women abort for convenience (let's face it, most are for convenience).
I know 3 women who had abortions in their late teens. They are all in their mid-30's now and all 3 are emotionally scarred to certain degrees. That will never go away.

I'm both.
Can't help but notice that essentially all of the people who say they're pro-life (meaning anti-abortion) here are more than willing to lie to support their stance. The abortion debate is not about "killing babies" - if that's what the anti-abortion people were concerned about, they'd drop their silly "it's a human being from conception" story and start protecting babies. Instead they're more than happy to sacrifice babies to their political stand.
Why are you "pro-life" people so willing to have babies killed? I think you have a LOT of explaining to do, don't you? The anti-abortion movement has resulted in a lot of abortions.

The women who say that they could never have an abortion but won't stand in the way of other women having one are hypocrites. They're saying, "I couldn't kill my baby, but..." If you get pregnant it's only nine months of your life to give YOUR baby the life they deserve. P.S. I gave you a star by mistake. Your 80,000 additions to your original question are ridiculous.
