My guess would be that you know someone who has "lost their mind" in some fashion or another, most prob. a parent who went through some sort of anxiety or depression when you were a child and so this has set up this fear in you.

You could be going through just a stressful time, and this has caused this anxiety which has as its outlet "fear of insanity."

If you are a writer, I would advise pouring out your feelings on paper every time you get anxious. Keep a notebook and write down every little single thing you are thinking about and the things you fear. After a time, you may notice patterns that help you get your rational thoughts back in line.

If possible, I would also talk to the person who came to mind when I said that you prob. know someone (most likely from your childhood) who has set up this anxiety in you. Ask that person if they remember being depressed, anxious, etc. and what helped them get better (if indeed they are better.)

All the best to you.

i would bet that you are an extremely intelligent person, that could possibly be the reason you fear losing your mind but remember,we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us,fear is a spirit of the devil we do not possess a spirit of fear but of a sound mind so you have nothing to fear

Hey there, It seems to be that you are experiencing what is known as Anxiety. It can be a symptom that accompanies Depresson, or a disorder all in its own, but either way...it is a chemical imbalance in the brain, and you need to seek help from a Psychiatrist. If you don't know where to find one, then contact your Primary Physician, and they can refer you.
