Years ago it was a worhip thing. Now it is something that needs to be involved sexually for the preson with said fetish to enjoy sexual gratification. ie a man with a foot fetish might only be able to reach climax through licking his partners feet etc.

The word has two connotations as a noun, one conceptual and one physical.
The conceptual connotation is of sexual excitement or gratification from an object, eg. people who get turned on by schoolgirl uniforms.
The physical connotation is of fetishes being religious objects believed to have "magical" powers. "Virgin mary on a cheeze sandwich!" and prayer beads are fetishes.

Uh, Fetishes is normally a sexual copulation using some form of specific item to focus on- such as, but not limited to shoes, bras, panties, or can be a sex act such as bondage, or whipping someone for sexual pleasure.
My quesiton is- Why did you put this quesiton in the spiritual and religion area when it should have been under other sexual groups?

PS: NOT 'taboos' but specific areas of sexuality (or even not) that particularly excite one sexually.

Taboo, or something you associated with nakedness as a child. For example: If you were a naked 2 year old covered in chocolate, later in life when you are naked you will associate one with the other.
