I separate them from the mother about six weeks. Each litter can be different. I don't separate them from each other until nine weeks.

They can be weaned between 5-6 weeks and the mother seperated long enough to dry up. However, they should stay together (and with mom once they can't keep nursing) until 10-12 weeks (12 is preferable) so they can learn how to inhibit their bite, and can get through the first fear period in the home they know rather than being shipped off in the middle of it. By 5-6 weeks you'll notice that mom doesn't stay with them all the time any more anyway.
Here I wean around 5 weeks and the puppies get plenty of adult interaction from their father and big sister and other adults here until mom is dried up (and even afterward). And I'm around the house enough to make sure that the puppies are healthy as they are making the transition.

I generally let the mother decide that, she will make it clear when she wants time off from the little critters. I make sure that she can get out of the puppy area when she wants, while keeping the puppies penned in.
Puppies should not be sold before 8 weeks of age, 10 or 12 weeks is better.

Pups should be at least 8 wk old before leaving their littermates. The female usually starts weaning them about 5 wks so meals need to be supplimented.
It is a law in the State of Florida, that no puppy (or kitten) can be offered for sale or transported into the state until they are 8 wks of age, and must have a State Dept of Agriculture Health Certificate from a licensed veterinarian.

It is illegal in my state to give or sell a pup before 8 weeks of age. No Good breeder with a very good reputation will sell a pup to be taken home before 8 weeks of age.

Puppies should be between 7-8 weeks before leaving their mother, although in my opinion it is best to just leave the pups with their mum until they go to their new homes. You just need to make sure that the pups are properly weaned before they go.
