Medically it makes no difference. Plenty of fluids helps rehydrate you if you have been feverish. You will probably find cold drinks are actually more soothing to your throat than hot. Paracetamol is also a good idea. 85% of sore throats are viral and will get better on their own.

Whatever makes you feel less sore. Neither one actually heals the throat so you may as well choose whichever makes you feel a bit better. Personally I drink tea when I have a sore throat.

Cold drinks may soothe a sore throat, but hot drinks, though they may make your throat feel more raw will help fight the infection. Try gargling with warm salt water with an aspirin dissolved in with it for pain relief.

Cold, so as to ease the inflammation.. hot lemon is a common mistake, as heat destroys Vitamin C therein and makes it useless.. Cold lemon, ornage, and specially grape fruits, will heal it eventually.
gargle, only gargle with a cup of water with 3 or 4 drops of vinegar therein.. Don't swallow.. vinegar shall kill the bacteria and reduces the inflammation alot.
Also inhaling hot vapour with mint, coral is of great help... Remmeber also to warm your neck...
Antibiotics are only helpful when a bacterial infection is the cause of the sore throat. For viral sore throats, antibiotics have been shown to only affect the degree of pain by day 4 and shorten the average natural duration by 16 hours overall.
Ceasing to smoke is also very helpful.

I find hot drinks are better like honey and lemon or buy the brand named ones from the shop, don't make it too hot though you don't want to make your sore throat worse.

Cold drinks feel soothing, but a hot lemon and honey drink is supposed to be healing.

Whatever is more comfortable on your thorat as long as you are taking in plenty of fluids. Warm drinks are usually more soothing but stick with what feels best.

I have hot tea and honey with a stiff shot of liquor. It really seems to help. I guess the alcohol kills some bacteria and the honey (which is also a natural antibiotic) soothes the irritation. Even the heat seems soothing.
