All these different versions of the Bible,... they drive me crazy!
Revalation 22:18 says, "For i testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book. "
Revalation 22:19 says, "And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."P.S. i don't care if the other versions are easier to read, they got it right the first time becasue its God's divine spoken Word!
ONLY SERIOUS ANSWERS PLEASE!!!

There are lots of debate in regards to versions. I too am a born again Christian. And I must say although I understand the verse about not adding or taking away, it doesn't apply in this situation. And I will tell you why I think so. The King James Version itself is not adding or taking away from the Bible, it simply translated from Latin, into English so that the common people and everyone else who only knew english would be able to read it. And at that time there was a huge controversy, saying, this is wrong, you are taking away from the Bible. But King James wanted it to be translated so that all could read it. Nowadays if it is translated properly into common speaking english, it is doing the same thing King James had wanted back then, only it is with the proper english of 2007. Adding of the Bible or taking away is like the Mormons who add books that were never inspired by God, but were created by man. Taking away of the Bible is when someone leaves something out on purpose like Jewish people don't believe in the New Testament even though it happened, and is inspired.

The Book of Revelations was written in a style of writing that was very popular in its day. It was written in code to give encouragement to the Christians who were in prison and about to die. It was not written to prophecy about our future but theirs.
We are not use to important books being written in code. We read important books literally and expect what is in them to be factual.
There is also a problem when going from one language to another. Some languages have phrases and words that do not translate well. The Bible has undergone many translations from the original Aramaic, Hebrew or Greek to Latin, English, French etc. Many of the words have changed. Many of the words were lost because of the original scrolls having holes in it. These spaces were filled in by the persons trying to piece together the ancient scrolls. Remember, in the past, before the printing press, all of this was done by hand. I suggest you take a good course in how the Bible was put together.

Revelation 22:18 was not written in King James English, or English at all. If you want to be consistent in your argument, then you'd better stick with the Greek.

Languages change, that is why there are so many versions. Some people prefer reading "Thee and thou" but others want normal language. Also older manuscripts are discovered and new versions are authorized to accommodates for the oldest manuscripts. Lastly, sometimes the translators get it wrong and thus new editions are required.

Thats funny. I think of it like this: You can buy a DELL, you can buy a Hewlitt. You can buy an IBM and you could buy a Vaio.
Why do that when you could choose APPLE?
In religion.........there are many...
There is only one type of true Atheist.
