i have! since the 10th of feb - its miserable. i've even pulled a muscle in my shoulder from coughing so much.
one thing i've found that really helps is a steam mug - i bought mine from superdrug for about £5. it looks like a baby's cup with a lid on it but it has a small mask that fits over your mouth and nose.
you put boiling water in it - with or without an inhalant or some essential oils (eucalyptus is good) - put the lid on and breath in the steam.
its much more civilised than putting your head over a bowl with a towel.
it isn't a cure, but it makes me feel better and more able to breathe freely for a while.
i also take an expecorant to make the phlegm easier to shift (sorry to be graphic!).
hope you're feeling better soon - its very draining isn't it.

I have had this annoying cough since NOVEMBER! I cant get rid of it. Ive tried everything. It turned from bronchitis into pneumonia, the pneumonia is gone but I still have a lingering cough. I've been drinking hot tea with honey at night..just so I can get some sleep and not cough all night. That seems to be the only thing that has worked. I hope you find something!!

There's a lot you can do to ease up cough, especially if it is expectorating (produces phlegm).
One of the first things to do is drink a lot of tilly flowers tea (Tilia Cordata Flores, Tillia officinalis Flores) sweetened with tilly or accacia flowers honey and with a slice of lemon. Not only it is an exquisitedrink but it will also relieve your cough. Also, it has a soothing and calming effect and a little dissinfecting due to the honey. Drink it warm but not excessively hot.
Another excellent remedy (although not as pleasant as the tilly tea) is onion tea. Take one or two onions, peel them and wash them add the cores from 2-3 wallnuts and put them in around 1 pint of water. Boil for around 10 minutes, sweeten the liquid, seeve it and then drink as you would a tea.
Also, a good remedy is black raddish cold syrup. Take one large, healthy black raddish, peel it, wash it and cut it in slices around 3-5 mms thick. In a porcelain vessel, put one layer of slices and then cover with honey, sugar or zuckerkandel (that's crystaline sugar in large lumps). Then put another layer of raddish slices and again sugar. Finish with sugar or honey. Leave in a cool (but not necessarily cold!) place for 2 days. Then, collect the syrup at the bottom of the recipient, let it get to room temperature.
1 - 2 spoonfulls twice per day will work wonders. It's also an excellent revigorating and vitaminizating medicine. The recipient containing the syrup can be stored in a fridge for no more than several weeks. The slices of raddish with sugar can also be eaten (whoever likes them, as they are a super collection of vitamins and mineral salts). You can also do this with raddish juice mixed with accacia or tilly honey. Careful! The juice can also be hot sometimes (as in hot peppers!) and should be served with care. Digestive conditions under doctor's advice.
Or you could just use MUCOSOLVAN syrup from Boehringer Ingelheim. There is a honey based variety.

No Milk
No Chocolate
No Ice Cream
Drink lots of water.
Rock and Rye You can get at the liquoir store and it will keepfor years in you cabinets if your kids don't find it. Take a swig. Always works for me. This is sort of like the old fashioned cough medicine you make with honey and peppermint. I guess it is considered a liquoir. I am not a drinker but this stuff works.

I have it too, and I have asthma and emphysema as well. There isn't a whole lot you can do except take cough suppressants. You might try an inhaler too, it helps loosen up the phlegm so you can cough it up better. Steam from a hot shower helps too. You might want to use a humidifier as well.

Try a little bit of turmeric in hot milk - it tastes really yucky (add some honey if you like) but it does help.
My daughter had a cough that drove us both insane for weeks as she was up most nights with it. I tried all sorts but I found this helped. Hope you get rid of it!

My sister gets one of these colds every year lasting up to six weeks sometimes. Being viral there is no actual cure but buttercup medicine helps though it is a horrible brown colour and tastes not so great. Hope you feel better soon.

nicely,my daughter has a similar difficulty, she basically takes cough drops to college together with her, hers has been happening for months now, because of the fact it began and he or she went to the wellbeing care expert and that they gave her some good cough syrup with meds in it,in spite of the undeniable fact that it helped a splash then she ran out and it fairly is decrease back,so the record won't do lots, yet provide you cough med,and that i had to ask for that. attempt ingesting various water,it cleans your throat out,and attempt going exterior extra many times and taking deep breaths of the clean air to cleanse yoiur lungs. And with a bit of luck you do no longer smoke, this would reason it too.
