oragel is widely available in south london, i use it for cold sores, it contains bezocaine and really helps with any mouth pain,don't think it is for use with babies but would check, i know in the us they have baby oragel . i get mine form tha asda on the a3.
Having worked as a nanny for 17 years i have had my share of teething pains.. nelsons teething powders are widely available from chemists along with calpol every four hours will keep your child happy ...good luck!

Hi Oragel appears to be a US (& Canada) product. I think the UK equivalent is Bonjela which is available at virtually any pharmacist (certainly any branch of Boots). (Both do childrens products but I have only included the information about the adult versions.)

The description of Bonjela from the Boots website is
A fast acting, pain relieving gel for teething and mouth ulcers. Also for reducing inflammation and helping fight infection in teething, mouth ulcers, denture sore spots and cold sores.

(The following is the description from the oragel wedsite
Orajel Adult offers fast acting, long lasting relief for adults suffering from cold sores, canker sores, toothache pain, dry mouth and denture irritation.)
