u r right.there is a condition called hyper-vitaminosis.incidentally this does not occur if taken only in the form of diet,but occurs if a extra capsule is popped regularly.there r reported cases of vitamin-A and vitamin-D overdose.

i dotn exactly know about the side effects, however every element's overdosage creats a problem. take it culcium, that helps in growth of extra bone in the body, which can be removed by operation. however, these days, there are medicines and injuctions that helps melt the extra bone in the boody, without any cuts to make too.
