This may sound flippant, but you are guaranteed to see a couple celebrities at Laker basketball home games. If time is permitting, get tickets to the taping of some T.V. shows, like The Price is Right (you may win a car), or The Tonight Show w/ Jay Leno. you will definitely see Celeb's there. And of course, like someone else has said, there's Canter's Deli, near CBS Studios.

Some of the suggestions in Maibu and Beverly Hills were pretty good, but I'm very surprised some obvious places were left out. Celebs gotta eat, so try some of these:
Pinks, the hot dog stand in Hollywood. Not far from CBS Television City. Great dogs.
Canter's Deli, also near CBS. Great comfort food.
Spago in west Hollywood.
Schatzi's in Santa Monica.
More often than not, you won't see anyone famous, but you never know. And if you do spot a celeb, remember these rules:
-Don't point
-Stay cool
-Don't gush
-Don't drool

You're not likely going to run into anyone. But, here goes some places where you might...
The Ivy on Robertson. In fact, go to all the stores along the Robertson corridor...Kitson, Agnes B. Lisa Kline.
Bristol Farms Grocery Store on Beverly & Doheny...or the one on Sunset and Fairfax.
Nate and Al's deli in Beverly Hills.
Have a drink at the Four Seasons bar in Beverly Hills.
Go to all the posh shops on Melrose like Fred Segal, Marc Jacobs, Madison. etc. (stay West of Crescent Heights)
go to the places during the week, not a weekend.

if youre in LA try Sunset, Melrose & Wilshire or Rodeo...good people watching shopping and eating though overpriced...if weather is good cruise thru Venice, and Santa Monica pier, if going to San Diego see the wild animal park in Escondido, and visit LaJolla which is just north of pacific beach...great beach walking up to the seal preserve that is a lifeguard station just below Prospect ave...dinner or nightlife in San Diego downtown is good in the gaslamp district, make your way down to 5th street, and between all the places in that area you can hang out all night (decent dinner joints also) without having to drive anywhere (also lots of nice golf courses in San Diego that are reasonably priced)...If in Vegas visit the Palms, Hard Rock and the Venetian...if youre up for it walking the strip is best at night, and to catch everything will take two days...

I've seen several B level stars at the Studio City Farmer's Market on Sunday mornings.
I agree. Celeb sightings are overrated. Besides, we have an unwritten rule here. We don't bother the stars when they are out and about in their everyday lives.

Easy... Just find out when a movie premier is taking place... Usually premiers take place on Wednesday's at the Arclight Hollywood and Mann's Chinese.
