I would recommend a shelter dog. If you've not had a great deal of experience with dogs, then a labrador could be a recipe for disaster! They are very smart, and left to their own devises, they can be quite a bit to handle.

Mutts/mix breeds tend to be more mellow, less apt to cause destruction, and healthier.

If you must have a purebred-research it. There's "Dog breed polls" all over the internet, I believe even the AKC wesite has one.

Good luck to you!

I think everyone should get a pound puppy, there are so many puppies and dogs in need of homes. I don't believe in purchasing a bred dog when there are so many others that are just going to get put to sleep. Check with your local shelters they have so many mixed breeds once you decide which breeds you like (lab mixes are great!!) you can find one that has that breed in it and you will not only have a great pet but know you've done a wonderful thing!!

If you have a big place for the dog to run around, get a medium or large breed dog like a Labrador. They are really friendly. If you mostly intend to have your dog in your apartment, you will need a small breed dog to be more space efficient.

Do you want a large dog or a small dog, my reccommendations are a Newfoundland, Rottweiler, or your standard Black Lab for the large dogs and for small i would say, Cocker Spaniel, Cockapoo, or a high maintenance Yorkie

you SHOULD decide what you want a dog for ( walks in the woods, jogging partner, couch potato etc.) then decide how much time you wish to spend on grooming etc. go to AKC.ORG and see all the breeds and descriptions,, this should make your choice a somewhat easier one.

A maltipoo isn't a real breed, it really is a dressmaker mutt it really is been slapped a lovable label to attempt to get you to purchase it. in simple terms on your suggestion. about names... you'll locate a lot extra thoughts surfing the internet than from persons the following. Yorkies are tremendous, yet please pass to a respected breeder. they're regularly intense priced... you (frequently) get what you pay for, notwithstanding.
