The wine is from a German valley called Mosel ( the french call it moselle, for it run into france )and Europeans typically name their wine for the region, not the varietal. Reisling is the actual grape and can be grown anywhere ( likes coolish and wet ). There is much more to this answer but this is the simplistic one.

Mosselle:
German white wine from the Moselle valley or a similar wine made elsewhere

Riesling:
Fragrant dry or sweet white wine from the Rhine valley or a similar wine from California

moselle tastes nicer it's not as bitter as riesling
