About 2 hours after. I have only had 2 fillings in the whole of my life when i was 11, and the whole pain thing really is a pain!. I decided i would never have anymore fillings and have looked after my teeth! I am 44 now and have not needed dental treatment for 34 years!.

It really depends.
Firstly do you have an injection to make you numb? if you did then it would be an idea to wait till the numbness wears off so you don't burn or bite yourself.
Secondly it depends on the material used to do the filling, if it is a white filling these are set as soon as you leave so you can eat straight away, if it is a metal filling you need to wait a few hours.

Usually the dentist should tell you that you can't eat for two hours, but if the anaesthetic wears off you can eat but try to avoid eating on the side of the filling or eat soft foods at start

Depending on the filling type... Immediately to 12 hours later.

Gold fillings don't need "cure" time.

Some of the modern plastic filling materials are not fully cured for 12 hours and could be deformed if you eat.

Generally, your dentist will tell you how long you should wait.

I normally go for some tomato soup if its a silver filling (might stain if it's a white one) but be carefull to make sure it's not too hot or you'll scald your mouth if its still numb. Better to wait a few hours I'd say. Nice soft bread too.

As soon as you feel up to it. The fillings set hard very quickly but avoid toffees, nuts and sticky things just in case.
