The holy Quran serves as a basis for the devout Muslim to act. Some principles follow:
Death for apostasy:
Sura 4:89: "They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (From what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks.”
Kill Disbelievers in a cruel fashion:
Sura 5:33: "The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they will have an awful doom."
Slit throats of unbelievers:
Sura 47:4: "Now when ye meet in battle those who disbelieve, smite at their necks; until when you have overcome them, bind a bond firmly (on them): thereafter (is the time for) either generosity or ransom: Until the war lays down its burdens. Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had been Allah's Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the Way of Allah,- He will never let their deeds be lost."

Muslims do not hate america...I'm American and Muslim and so are many many others. We hate its foreign policy especially regarding the Middle East, but so do American Christians, American Jews, American Hindus, American Atheists etc...does that mean they all hate America too? Regarding Israel...there is a long history between Arabs and Jews which has caused extreme animosity to build up generation after generation. Its hard to overcome, especially when those in power on both sides dont want to make peace...they just want to be right. Muslims hate the injustice that they see Israel(along with its pal America) doing in the Middle East. The hate for Israel is really deep seated hate for injustice to brothers in religion and humanity in general. Muslims do not lie about being peaceful. Do not generalize all Muslims because some Muslims do not follow the words of God the way its intended(even though they and others would love to believe they do). Do not look at the handful of "Muslims" that cause destruction and harm...look at the billion or so that live peacefully and abhor violence in all forms. 'The news says so..."...what else can I say? Read a book.

Not all Muslims do these things, just a few prominent folks who claim to be Muslim, like Ahmenajad, over in Tehran, official handpuppet of the Ayatollah.

You are so insular. Think for yourself. Not saying you are wrong, but to say it must be true because the news says so, is a very sad reflection on you. "I have researched it thoroughly and come to the conclusion that it is so" would sound so much better.

Muslims are really peaceful. The news you see are making you blind and stopping you from knowing the truth. Don't believe these news Muslims are great persons. Try to know them well by communicating with them.

Muslims don't hate anyone, the news lies and Islam IS peaceful when practiced properly. Please stop making such inaccurate generalizations and spreading your hatred.
