I can't eat cheese, because it actually makes me sick and i try to have as little milk in my diet as possible, because i get stomach cramps after consuming milk. Through experience, i've therefore learnt to minimise my consumption of dairy products. Does this mean i'm lactose intolerant or something else? What can be done about this? Do i need to use supplements?

if you want to find out if you are lactose intolerant then get tested. its highly unlikely that you are lactose intolerant if you are from what the government would style as cauasian genetic background, its pretty common in people with Chinese or Indian ancestors, where its pretty common.

If you are unable to consume milk and dairy products then the only item liable to missing in your diet as a function of that is Calcium, thats assuming that the rest of your diet is reasonably balanced. If you actively seek out other foodstuffs that are rich in calcium you should need to resort to vitamin or minerla supplements.

Most people eating a varied diet do not need vitamin pills, there are some exceptions (I think pregnancy is for soem people), but they are few and far between.

Personally I think there is no harm, especially if you think your diet may not be varied enough in taking a vitamin/mineral supplement but thats primarily as a peace of mind or a propholactic. If you think your diet isnt varied enought then Id honestly suggest you change the diet to compensate, not take pills. A word of caution taking significantly higher dose of some vitamins can actively comprose your health (there was a Swedish study, which found that to high levels of some viatmins could lead to bone mass loss) so dont over dose on vitamin pills in the mistaken belief that more must mean better.

Test urself by taking the supplement before consuming dairy products and see if there is any difference compared to when u do not take such supplements. In some cases, the people can consume curd but not milk.

Eat nourishing food that too only when hungry and not more than three times a day unless diabetic. U shud take water only in between the meals. Chew each morsel of food at least 32 times so that ur brain generates a command to u to indicate that u have had enough. Take light exercise and brisk walks regularly. U will be able to attain ur ideal weight within a reasonable time gracefully and effortlessly w/o any side effects.

Most likely you are lactose intolerant. There are pills available that can help you, but doing without dairy is actually pretty healthy. To get calcium eat plenty of green leafy veggies, like kale and spinach, eat whole grains and take a calcium supplement.

egetarians or vegans can sometimes miss out on vitamin B12, vitamin D, calcium, iron and zinc which are mainly found in meat and dairy products. You don't need to take supplements if you eat a balanced diet. Iron and zinc are found in eggs, whole-grain cereals, pulses, green leafy vegetables and fortified breakfast cereals. For calcium, vitamins B2 and B12, try to eat two servings of low-fat dairy products a day. If you don't eat dairy products, try soya milk, fortified orange juice, dark leafy vegetables, sesame seeds, tahini, tofu, or almonds.

As animal products provide the best source of vitamins B2 and B12, vegans who avoid animal products altogether may benefit from taking supplements.

Yes, you might be lactose intolerant. Don't worry, i have been for years, and it doesnt mean you end up being deficient. A lot of fruits and cereals should take care of your nutritional needs(I am vegetarian too).
