For years the Big Bang theory was considered rubbish because it appeared to be too much like creationism. But now it's generally accepted.

Are atheists bias against some ideas becasue religions thought of them first?

Back in the 70's the scientists started saying that there was once a world wide flood on mars because they said that this is the only thing that could have created those giant canyons on mars. We have giant canyons that are very comparable to the ones on mars. The only problem is that our canyons here on earth are half filled with water(namely, oceans). You have mountains that go 6 miles high near ocean trenches that go 7-9 miles deep. Take out the water and you have canyons that are 13-15 miles deep. It always amazes me that on a planet like mars where they have never found any water, they say that there was once a world wide flood and on a planet like earth that is 72% covered by water(not to mention all the aquifiers, namely the oceans of water underneath the ground) they say there could never have been a world wide flood. I read an article once by a geologist who said that he wished that he could propose a world wide flood. He said it would explain a lot of things that presently have no explanation in geology. But he said he couldn't because that sounds too much like the bible and if he came up with that explanation he would be ridiculed and possibly blackballed in his profession.

Religon thought of plenty of ridiculous ideas (there are too many to state) , why don't we talk about all of that stuff.

The Big Bang does not confirm Creation, it simply states a point of time where the universe was one black hole & after crossing critical point it exploded outwards , hence the Big Bang.

FYI : The Big Bang does not talk about matter-creation in any way.

Also as per science this may not be the First or the last Bug Bang.

As the Universe expands outwards, eventually in a few thousand Billions years from now , it will start to contract again. Then it will merge to form one single black hole & again prepare for another Big Bang.

Sorry But your religous books did not even know about Dinosaurs or of life before Dinosaurs or about the galaxies outside our galaxy ....... infact the Church has always attacked science & imprisioned people for stating scientific facts ..... I mean a 1,000 years ago the church would hunt you like a witch if you said the earth went around the sun.

Remember, from the time that Edwin Hubble discovered galaxies were red shifted in the 1920s, there were major implications for an expanding universe.

There were "expanding universe" adherents from pretty early on (although, at least at first, Einstein was famously not among them). The other camp, who thought Red Shift represented "tired light" was increasingly marginalized. Once the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) was discovered in the 1950s, the Big Bang was the theory of choice. So, what is amazing is how quickly we went from "Steady State" to "Big Bang". By contrast, it took the Catholic Church more than 400 years to decide that arresting Galileo was a mistake.

easily the known technological point of mankind has extra advantageous over the final couple of centuries with the commercial and digital and proposals revolutions. whether, the idealistic image you're portray isn't the completed tale. this would be a floor image. below those "eradicated" ailments are resistant new sorts of sickness. We (mankind) are actually not the only species on earth to evolve; our advances have not proceeded with out outcomes. it is the terror of those outcomes which informs most of the Luddite persuasion and people who would have us halt technological progression to permit human psychological and social progression to get closer our prowess with craftsmanship and actual innovation. Then there are people who concern blindly, people who take emotional cues from religious texts and use them to justify tries to halt progression for no different reason than it could provide a imprecise threat that isn't completely understood. mutually as Utopia is lots from achieved in at present's society, it is not homogeneous, nor could it is. There could continuously be a cautionary voice to offset the keen futurists. whether, whilst the voice of unreasonable concern takes carry and positive aspects a majority say, this is whilst issues replace into shaky and frightening. a complicated subject, yet not one that is unpredicted in any advance society with many layers. thank you for the question; sorry i'm not an atheist, yet I pop in on those each and all of the time, as few questions are geared in the direction of agnostics.

most athiests admit there are thinks we do not know - but hope that one day science will provide an answer - do we know how the universe started - no - we have several good hypothesis, and until we have a definitive answer or a new hypothesis we have to go with the most likly. unfortunately religious people just say attribute everything they don't understand to god.
why are we here - dont know - must be gods choice
what is the meaning of life - dont know - must be gods choice
what happens when we die - dont know - must be gods choice
what is the meaning of life - dont know - must be gods choice
why are there stars - dont know - must be gods home - ie the heavens

for those that dont believe me look at older religions
why dose the sun rise - dont know - the sun god
why dose it rain - dont know - the rain god

etc

Some might be. I try not to behave in such a way. It's not really possible to lump atheists all in one big group--the only thing we necessarily have in common is lack of belief in deities. There are religious atheists--some forms of Buddhism, Taoism, Jainism, etc. are atheistic.

What did religion think of first, may I ask?
And it is very possible that many atheists dismiss it, but you know, there are ignorant people in every religion or non-religious group.
