Thinking it makes him cool.
Thinking it makes him powerful.
Wanting people to be afraid of him.
Not caring about other people.
Thinking other people are going to hurt him, so he'd better hurt them first.
Having an aggressive personality disorder.
Being brought up in a rude family.
Having ties to a society that values rudeness (such as gangs, or some kinds of jobs).
Not understanding that he is being rude and upsetting people.
These are just a few possible reasons. Maybe it's best to ask him what his reason is, unless he'd attack you for asking.

A rude personality is rude mental state. A man becomes rude when his expectations are more than his resources available to him. If he thinks that he is unable to satisfy his needs with due means, he becomes rude as he failed to satisfy those desires. It is more psychological than physical process of mind.

At times it is insecurity. They don't know how to act so they act out and are rude.
At other times they are really full of themselves.
Some are just idiots!
